Supported Charities

The money we raise will go to the following causes, amongst other local charities:

Compassionate Kenilworth are excited to support Kenilworth Soroptimists taking on the annual Advent Calendar fundraiser previously managed by Kenilworth Rotary Club.  We have been extremely grateful to receive funding over the past few years and it has been put to good use, funding courses, activities and programs of support for isolated individuals in the Kenilworth area.  Future funding will be used to continue to support our much needed emergency food support for families in need, our breakfast provision at Kenilworth School for children who present without breakfast and to widen our reach to new families arriving in Kenilworth who may be living in social housing and in need of additional support

Refuge Domestic Abuse Service in Warwickshire supports survivors and their children at times of need to secure safe accommodation and security. The Refuge accommodation doesn’t just put a roof over a families’ head, they provide a package of support to help survivors and their children move on from the abuse and rebuild their lives. Many survivors flee with very little, sometimes with just the clothes they are wearing. Your donation helps by creating a wellbeing fund - which provides emergency packages of food, toiletries, and children essentials such as pyjamas, books, school items and toys to help them settle into their new safe accommodation within Kenilworth and surrounding areas. The fund also provides immediate relief in desperate times of need to cover the costs of transport and resources for managing wellbeing and social activities.

The support we receive from the Kenilworth Advent Calendar makes a tremendous difference to Priory Youth Theatre and the young people who take part in our productions. The funds raised through the calendar enable us to provide a range of exciting workshops, including stage combat, circus skills, music and rap sessions. These opportunities give our members the chance to learn from specialist practitioners, try new experiences and develop skills that go far beyond the stage. The impact on our young people has been remarkable. Taking part in these workshops helps build confidence, creativity, teamwork and communication skills, while encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones in a supportive environment. Many participants have discovered new talents and gained a greater belief in their own abilities. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports the Kenilworth Advent Calendar. Their generosity helps us continue to inspire, nurture and empower young people through the performing arts, creating opportunities that will benefit them for years to come.

At The Myton Hospices we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. With three hospices in Coventry, Warwick and Rugby, we are leaders in compassionate end of life care, our work centres on patient wellbeing and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly we enable our patients to live well for longer with a life-limiting illness and give them more quality time with their loved ones. Fundraising from our community, including campaigns like the annual Kenilworth Advent Calendar, provides vital support, helping to ensure people can access the care they need and deserve, and allowing more patients and families to experience comfort, dignity and support at every stage.

The donation will have a transformative impact on Talisman Youth Theatre and, in particular, on our ability to deliver a fully realised annual main stage production for young performers. It will ensure that our youth company receives the same high production values, professional technical support, and creative opportunities that we provide across all other Talisman productions. This means access to quality staging, lighting, sound, costumes, set design, and rehearsal resources, allowing young people to experience theatre-making at a genuinely professional standard. Beyond the performance itself, the donation will help build confidence, teamwork, creativity, and communication skills in the young people involved, many of whom gain invaluable experience both on and off stage. By supporting the annual main stage production, the donation invests directly in the next generation of performers, technicians, and theatre-makers, while ensuring that youth theatre remains ambitious, inclusive, and accessible for all participants regardless of background or financial circumstances.

The funding received through the sales of the Rotary Advent Calendar over the past few years has had a hugely positive impact on The Kenilworth Centre, enabling us to strengthen and expand our support for young people in the community. We are extremely grateful for this support and are delighted that Kenilworth Soroptimists have agreed to take over this highly successful annual fundraiser. The continued funding will allow tKC to further enhance our female-led youth provision, creating more opportunities for young people to build confidence, improve self-esteem, and develop important life skills. The funding will support programmes and workshops focused on empowerment and self-defence, helping young people feel safer, more resilient, and better equipped to face everyday challenges. These initiatives have already made a meaningful difference to many young people, and ongoing support will ensure this valuable work can continue to grow and reach even more members of the community.
